Rosalyn Naveh
Rosalyn Naveh, 49, born in Israel, lives in Omer, mother of 4, owns 2 galleries for jewelry and gifts, in Beer Sheva and in the Galilee.
Six years ago, Rosalyn began her career in designing and manufacturing of "filigree" jewelry. She developed her own, authentic line, which has oriental characteristics. Her jewelry is made in 24 karat gold, and into each piece she puts hundreds of hours of hand work.
The ancient art of Filigree is very special and requires finesse and expertise that take years to acquire. At present time, this art is almost extinct, only very few practice it. Its unique characteristic is 100% delicate hand work. Every piece of filigree jewelry consists of many small and yet complicated details, each of which needs special and individual attention.
Rosalyn’s filigree jewelry pieces are set with precious stones and diamonds, and also with enamel work done by the artist in an ancient traditional way of work.
Rosalyn Naveh designs her jewelry and manufactures it; she personally supervises all production processes, committed to highest quality in materials as well as in finishing.
The special history of the "Love" pendant begins with a call from the Peres Center for Peace. This organization, whose aim is to promote peace in the middle east, invited movie star Sharon Stone to speak in a congress in Tel Aviv on march 2006, and honored Rosalyn to be the artist who will create the gift presented to Ms Stone on her visit, as recognition of her action on behalf of war against Aids (HIV).
Rosalyn suggested the "Love" pendant, a jewelry piece that took 350 hours of meticulous hand work to create, and its value is estimated at $35.000. It is authentically oriental, and reminiscent of Middle Eastern art.
Rosalyn volunteered to present it personally to Ms Stone, and had a personal dedication engraved on the piece, as well as on its wooden gift box.
Unfortunately, Ms Sharon Stone could not arrive in the event planned in her honor. Therefore, with Ms Stone's consent, Rosalyn made a decision to auction the "Love" pendant, and donate the revenue to Israeli HIV patients.
