Linked for Learning, Positioned for Growth

New and Improved for 2008!
The 2008 PEJE Assembly for Jewish Day School Education explores and promotes linkages, collaborations, and relationships that strengthen learning at both the core of the school and its periphery. Building on concepts of learning communities, the Assembly challenges school and community leaders to look simultaneously inward and outward to build multiple connections and then mobilize sufficient institutional resources to sustain learning environments.

Deep curiosity, openness to learning, meaningful conversations, active listening, trust, and a willingness to question assumptions and surrender to surprise are the elements of a learning community. Whether in the classroom, around the teacher's lounge, in the board room, or outside of the school's four walls in federations, central agencies, and synagogues, when a school's leaders link for learning, they position themselves and their schools for growth.
